Jormungandr was born as the second oldest out of four in the realm of Asgard to Loki (father) and a dragon (mother). He grew up in the swamps of Alfheim, left by Odin to survive on his own. Due to being alone most of his life, Jormungandr lacks communication and social skills. He often voices complaints or says inappropriate things at the worst times. Shortly after his younger sister’s (Hela) birth, Jormungandr and his siblings were cursed by Odin to forget who they were. Jormungandr became a legend amongst the elves of Alfheim since he was known as the giant serpent that terrorized the swamp. Angry at Odin for the pain Asgard’s king caused, Jormungandr vowed to kill his adoptive grandfather. Displaying the protectiveness of a dragon, Jormungandr will do anything to undo the wrongs that fell upon him and his siblings.

 

Jormungandr displays a tough, angry exterior. He lacks trust, although, he does show compassion and affection towards his siblings. He is known to tease his siblings a lot, even though his jokes are not the most appropriate and he does tend to start fights without intending to do so. Brash and bold, Jormungandr does not think before jumping into a situation. If something upsets him, he makes sure that others know, either verbally or physically. Oftentimes, Jormungandr’s siblings have to hold him back from a fight. Despite his bad-boy attitude, Jormungandr does truly care for his siblings; he just does not know how to show it. He is more comfortable around people he knows, such as his family or his girlfriend, Mia. Mia tends to be the only one who sees his soft side, which he usually keeps locked away for fear of appearing weak or afraid.

 

Jormungandr is a natural-born survior. He is self-taught to defend himself and boasts the strength and speed to hold his own in a battle. He prefers to use harsher methods that utilize his strength to overpower his opponents. He lacks a fighting style, instead of using whatever suits him at the moment, although he does prefer to use a battle-axe as his weapon of choice. When he is in his serpent form, Jormungandr possesses lethal venom that can kill any opponent with a single, fatal bite.
